Civilian Dispatchers must have excellent communications skills and possess the ability to communicate effectively with the public as well as other law enforcement personnel. Dispatchers must have the ability to learn the basic operation of the Sheriff's 800Mhz radio system and computer-aided dispatch systems. The ability to obtain certification as a Law Enforcement Automated Data System (LEADS) operator is mandatory.Dispatcher applicants must be at least 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Dispatcher applicants must be able to keyboard at least fifty words per minute.
The hourly pay rate for the Civilian Dispatcher position ranges from $19.18 - $26.80.
